Approximately Up Radar Guide: What Is Confirmed
CURRENT TEST NEEDED
DIRECT ANSWER
Use radar as one layer of navigation, not a complete route: identify which display or device is producing a contact, observe how that contact changes as you turn or move, and confirm the target with another instrument before committing to a burn.
- Sensors and meters
- officially confirmed
- Current radar manual
- not found
- Old Fred's Quest
- demo-era context only

Why this page exists: A player has the beginning radar equipment but cannot turn contacts into a route.
Current versus demo evidence
The current store confirms controllers, sensors, and meters as ship systems. A developer announcement used radar in the older Fred's Quest demo context, but demo-era behavior is not silently promoted to a 1.0 instruction.
The current community thread proves the beginning radar device is confusing. It does not give this site permission to invent icon meanings or distances.
What a verified radar page still needs
A proper manual needs screenshots of the current device, a known target, a controlled turn, and a recorded change in the display. Until then this page provides a reading discipline, not a symbol legend.
